Mettricks Butchers in Glossop are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Level 2 Craft Bakery Apprentice to join their friendly and established team. This role is ideal for someone with a genuine passion for bakery, who is eager to learn, develop new skills, and begin a rewarding career in the baking industry.

You will be guided by an experienced mentor who will support your growth throughout the apprenticeship.

Pay & Hours

• Early morning starts 

• Wage: £8.00 per hour
• Minimum Hours: 30 hours per week
• Must be available for weekend work

• Work trial essential

 Training & College Information

• Commitment: Full attendance at college is essential

• Apprenticeship: Level 2 Baker (Craft Bakery route)
• College Day: Every Monday
• Location: T1 Campus, Ashton-under-Lyne

• Duration: 18 Months + EPA

• Dough development, fermentation, and baking processes
• Food safety, hygiene, allergens and contamination risks
• Safe operation of bakery equipment
• Knowledge of craft bakery products (breads, pastries, confectionery)

Skills

• Mixing, shaping, baking, and finishing bakery products
• Following recipes and production plans
• Accurate weighing and measuring
• Working efficiently under time pressures
• Maintaining excellent hygiene and cleanliness

Dental Nurse Apprenticeship Level 3

About the Practice
We are a welcoming dental practice based in the Audenshaw area, serving our local community with a strong focus on patient care, safety, and professionalism. We are pleased to offer an opportunity for a motivated individual to join our team as a Dental Nurse Apprentice. You will be supported by an experienced dental team and receive structured training to help you build a long-term career in dental nursing.

The Role
As a Dental Nurse Apprentice, you will support the dentist and wider dental team in providing high-quality patient care. This role combines hands-on experience within the practice with off-the-job training delivered through college, allowing you to develop both practical and theoretical knowledge of dental nursing.

Training & Location

• Workplace training based at our Audenshaw dental practice

• One day per week attending Tameside College (Beaufort Road, OL6 6NX)

• Apprenticeship duration: approximately 18–24 months

Working Hours

• Minimum of 30 hours per week

• Potential to work up to 40 hours per week

Pay

• £6.40 per hour

• Rate will increase in April in line with National Minimum Wage changes

Entry Requirements

• GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 or above (or equivalent)

• A Grade 3 in either Maths or English may be considered

• A genuine interest in dentistry and patient care

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting the dentist during a range of dental procedures

• Preparing, sterilising, and maintaining dental instruments and equipment

• Supporting patients and helping them feel comfortable and at ease

• Maintaining accurate patient records

• Managing stock and dental supplies

• Supporting reception duties, including appointment scheduling

• Carrying out basic laboratory tasks such as pouring and trimming dental models

• Providing patients with oral hygiene advice when appropriate

About the Role

Park Cake Bakeries, a leading name in premium cake and dessert manufacturing, is offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Level 2 Food Operative Apprentice.
You’ll gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced food production environment while studying towards your qualification with Tameside College.

A work trial will be required prior to starting the apprenticeship.

Duration of Qualification: 12 Months + End Point Assessments

Key Responsibilities

As a Food Operative Apprentice, you will:

• Prepare, handle, and package food products safely and efficiently.

• Operate machinery and equipment used in food production.

• Monitor product quality and report any issues to supervisors.

• Follow strict hygiene, safety, and food handling standards.

• Work as part of a team to meet production targets.

• Maintain a clean and organised work environment.

• Support continuous improvement and workplace efficiency.

Training and Support

• One day per week at Tameside College (Monday release).

• Dedicated Skills Coach will visit your workplace to assess and carry out observations.

• Free access to the college gym and enrichment activities.

• Functional Skills in English and Maths available if GCSE grade 4 has not been achieved.

Requirements

• Minimum age: 17 years.

• GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 or above preferred (not essential).

• Reliable, punctual, and committed to both work and college attendance.

• Willing to work early morning shifts.

• Positive attitude and a strong desire to learn.
