About the Role

Mettricks Butchers is looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, and reliable apprentice to join our bakery team. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn the skills needed to become a qualified baker while working in a busy, traditional food production environment. You'll be supported by experienced staff as you develop practical skills in bread and bakery production, food preparation, and maintaining high standards of quality and hygiene.

What You'll Learn

You will develop practical skills and knowledge to:

  • Produce craft breads, rolls, pastries, and other bakery products
  • Scale recipes and apply fillings and finishes
  • Use aeration, raising agents, and lamination techniques
  • Finish products to specification
  • Work efficiently in a professional bakery environment
  • Organise work areas and prepare ingredients
  • Maintain excellent food safety and hygiene standards

The Role

As an Apprentice in Early Years , you will gain hands-on clinical experience inside our nurseries while working towards a recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification. You will work alongside a supportive team of experienced professionals who will guide you in implementing the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework to support children's learning, development, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Child Development: Assist in planning and delivering fun, age-appropriate educational activities based on the EYFS framework.

  • Ensure Care and Safety: Help maintain a clean, safe, and nurturing environment for children during play, meal times, and outdoor sessions.

  • Observations and Tracking: Learn to observe, assess, and record individual children's progress to support their unique learning journeys.

What We Are Looking For

  • Qualifications: GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above are ideal. However, Grade 3s may be considered if you are committed to functional skills support during the apprenticeship.

No previous experience is required – full training and ongoing support will be provided throughout the apprenticeship.

Dental Nurse Apprenticeship Level 3

About the Practice
We are a welcoming dental practice based in the Audenshaw area, serving our local community with a strong focus on patient care, safety, and professionalism. We are pleased to offer an opportunity for a motivated individual to join our team as a Dental Nurse Apprentice. You will be supported by an experienced dental team and receive structured training to help you build a long-term career in dental nursing.

The Role
As a Dental Nurse Apprentice, you will support the dentist and wider dental team in providing high-quality patient care. This role combines hands-on experience within the practice with off-the-job training delivered through college, allowing you to develop both practical and theoretical knowledge of dental nursing.


Training & Location

  • Workplace training based at our Audenshaw dental practice

  • One day per week attending Tameside College (Beaufort Road, OL6 6NX)

  • Apprenticeship duration: approximately 18–24 months


Working Hours

  • Minimum of 30 hours per week

  • Potential to work up to 40 hours per week


Pay

  • £6.40 per hour

  • Rate will increase in April in line with National Minimum Wage changes


Entry Requirements

  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 or above (or equivalent)

  • A Grade 3 in either Maths or English may be considered

  • A genuine interest in dentistry and patient care


Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting the dentist during a range of dental procedures

  • Preparing, sterilising, and maintaining dental instruments and equipment

  • Supporting patients and helping them feel comfortable and at ease

  • Maintaining accurate patient records

  • Managing stock and dental supplies

  • Supporting reception duties, including appointment scheduling

  • Carrying out basic laboratory tasks such as pouring and trimming dental models

 APPRENTICE FURNITURE MAKER & CAMPERVAN CONVERSION OPERATIVE


Scandivan is a specialist campervan conversion company based in Glossop, creating high-quality, bespoke campervan interiors and furniture. The successful apprentice will have the opportunity to develop practical skills across furniture manufacturing, cabinetry, CNC machining and campervan conversions, working on projects from initial manufacture through to final installation.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, has an interest in furniture making and interior design, and would like to develop a career within the specialist campervan conversion industry.

Key Responsibilities
As your skills develop, your responsibilities will include:

  • Manufacturing furniture, cabinetry and interior components from technical construction drawings.
  • Learning to operate and oversee CNC machinery to accurately produce parts and components.
  • Assembling and finishing furniture to a high standard.
  • Interpreting workshop drawings, cutting lists and specifications.
  • Carrying out quality checks to ensure components meet Scandivan's high standards.
  • Preparing, machining, edging, sanding and finishing a variety of materials, including plywood, laminates, solid timber and composite boards.
  • Supporting the manufacture and installation of bespoke furniture and interiors within campervans.
  • Working closely with the design and production teams to ensure projects are delivered accurately and on schedule.
  • Assisting with workshop organisation, maintenance and stock management.
  • Identifying and helping to resolve manufacturing issues before components reach the installation stage.
