Adult learning delivers a bigger service to Tameside residents

Tameside Adult and Community Education (TACE) is joining up with Tameside College to provide a comprehensive education service for adults across Tameside.

TACE is well known to Tameside residents for delivering adult education services for Tameside Borough Council.  Its delivery of first steps learning close to home has ensured all potential learners have access to high quality education.

From Monday 4th April 2022, TACE will become part of Tameside College which will further enhance learners’ prospects for progression and the opportunity to develop skills and qualifications geared to changing employment needs.  They will be moving into new and modern facilities at Tameside Centre for Enterprise (TCfE) from this date, and will secure the independence of TACE whilst linking with Tameside College to enhance adult education in the borough.

Sarah Odor, Head of Service Adult and Community Education, said: "I am absolutely delighted with the arrangement.  We have been working with colleagues at Tameside College to make the move as smooth as possible for learners.  The service will continue to deliver the same high standard of quality learning to all its learners and our mission will be further enhanced with the superb new facilities and support from Tameside College."

Jackie Moores, principal and chief executive at Tameside College said: "This is great news for Tameside residents.  We can support and plan the delivery of an adult education service that supports individual needs and offers real progression for the social and economic prosperity of the borough of Tameside."
