Staff member nominated by students for beauty therapy award

Louise Parker, a hair and beauty teacher at Tameside College, has been recognised with a prestigious award from skincare brand, Dermalogica.

Louise was announced as the winner of the Lecturer Appreciation Award 2025 award by the company, as part of their annual Aspire Programme, which celebrates inspiring hair and beauty teachers across the UK.

The award recognises those who go above and beyond to support and motivate their students throughout their studies and beyond. Louise was nominated by her students for the award, for her kindness, motivational attitude and ability to bring out the best in their work.

The Aspire Programme is a celebration of outstanding teaching and is aimed at helping students reach their full potential with the support of industry professionals.

Louise Parker, teacher at Tameside College, said: “To receive an award has been nominated by the college’s student therapists is the ultimate compliment. The students work hard throughout the year to meet and exceed expectations. I am privileged to be able to contribute to their learning journeys and watch them develop into excellent beauty therapists. As a teacher working in a Dermalogica endorsed college, I feel we can offer another level of professionalism and employability to our students.”
