T-level students at Tameside College celebrate a 100% pass rate on the health course to pave the way for new careers.
Destinations for the class of 2025 include a range of professional qualifications at university and a career as a medic in the RAF. The most popular degree options include: occupational therapy, adult nursing, children’s nursing, paramedic science, biological science and physiotherapy.
The T-level health course is the equivalent to A-level study and is delivered in partnership with Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care Foundation who provide extensive placements in the therapy professions.
Ellie Fawcett, a former Rayner Stephens high school pupil, has been accepted at Manchester Metropolitan University to study physiotherapy after gaining distinctions, said: ‘The T-level in health at Tameside College has given me a real insight in to the differences in the healthcare roles. I had intended to follow a career in nursing but I became passionate about physiotherapy after a placement with them. When I saw a big green tick on my UCAS form this morning I knew that I had achieved the required grades’.
Nicola Welland, deputy principal, Tameside College congratulated the T-level students on their achievements: ‘You now have an opportunity to further your careers in much needed care roles in Greater Manchester and beyond. I would like to thank your teachers and the care trust who have given you the knowledge and experience to make this progression possible.’
