College recognised with a national award for support to students Tue, 03 February 2026 Tameside College has been awarded the SEND Inclusion Award in recognition for best practice in special education needs and disabilities (SEND). This award will further help the college to deliver high-quality education for pupils with SEND. Compliant with the SEND Code of Practice, the award framework focuses on removing barriers to learning through early identification, inclusive teaching and leadership. It also allows you to evaluate impact to improve classroom practice and pupil outcomes. The report praised Tameside College for ‘a strong commitment to inclusion with SEND placed at the heart of its strategic planning and daily practice. The impact of this inclusive culture is strongly evidenced through learner voice, retention, wellbeing and progress.’ The SEND Inclusion Award is awarded for a period of three years. Michelle Delia, head of SEND support at Tameside College said: “The SEND Inclusion Award is evidence of the college’s strategies to provide appropriate support to our learners. This is evident in the investment the college has made in specialist provision to meet evolving learner requirements. We are very proud to receive the award.”
