Celebration week highlights student achievements

Students from Tameside College and Clarendon Sixth Form College awarded during ‘celebration week’.

The college’s annual 16-18 and adult student of the year awards evenings took place on Tuesday 19th and Wednesday 20th May.

Students from each curriculum area were presented with awards for dedication to their studies and passion for learning during the ceremonies, at Dukinfield Town Hall.

Alongside students, guests included proud family members, college governors and senior leadership, staff members and Kevin Taylor, editor of About Tameside Magazine, who acted as master of ceremonies.

Overall student of the year awards were also presented during the events, with Georgia Leonard being awarded the 16-18 Tameside College student of the year, Dylan Freeman the A-level student of the year, Nathan Gannon the creative student of the year, Alice Summerscales the adult student of the year and Emma Elphick the adult community student of the year.

A panel of judges, including principal and CEO Jackie Moores and other senior leaders, selected each winner from the nominations submitted by teachers and staff.

The college’s celebration week aims to showcase the hard work and dedication of Tameside College and Clarendon Sixth Form College students in developing skills for their careers and highlighting the importance of education at every stage in life.

Jackie, said: "Celebration week is one of the most inspiring moments in the college’s calendar. It is a time to recognise the incredible achievements of our students, who have worked so hard to reach their goals. They are a testament to the power of education, perseverance, and ambition. I am immensely proud of each and every one of them and I have no doubt they will continue to make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.”
