Level 1 Introduction to Hair & Beauty

Level 1 Hair and Beauty is an ideal course for those learners who are interested in both Hair and Beauty or who are yet unsure which route to go down. Arming you with both Hairdressing, Beauty and Makeup skills the course covers a range of subjects including Styling Hair, Plaiting and Twisting, Skincare, Makeup, Presenting a Professional Image and Working in Beauty-Related Industries.

You will study in state of the art Hair Salons, Beauty Treatment Rooms and an industry reflective Media Makeup Studio! Assessment is a blend of both practical observations, assignment work and some theory exams.

You will also be required to purchase the salon uniform and a kit prior to commencing the course. Financial support is available to some students to purchase equipment. It is required that you carry out a home study, revision and complete tasks and assignments within your own time.
Hair and Beauty is an exciting and challenging career in a fast-paced and always growing industry. The course includes a variety of practical and theory classes alongside commercial salon sessions on paying clients. You will take part in trips, visits, seminars and competitions alongside your course to further develop your understanding and knowledge of the industry. You are also expected to undertake work experience to enhance your skills, keep you up to date with the latest trends and aid employability and progression opportunities.

You will be assessed by various methods of assessment including practical assessments, exams, assignments and written tasks.
