Level 2 Apprenticeship - Barbering Professional
Course content & format
The course covers the following units:
Follow health and safety practice in salon
Client consultation
Shampoo and condition the hair and scalp
Cut men’s hair
Cut facial hair
Develop and maintain your effectiveness at work
Create basic outlines and detailing in hair
Assist with shaving
Reception
There are several course opportunities during this programme. You have the chance to complete work experience in our academy salons, and also have the opportunity to enter a range of regional and national competitions, such as Wella. During your time on this programme, you will also take part in external visits, such
as The Wella Studios in Manchester to observe celebrity hairdressers and take part in bespoke one day demonstrations on the latest trends and fashions in the industry.
Your learning experience
An Individual Learning Plan will be designed for your needs
Assigned a Personal Tutor who specifically look after your pastoral and course requirements
Bespoke Gents Barbering will be put in place for styling, cutting and colouring
Course can include talks, seminars and competitions
Entry qualifications
Learners must have;
City and Guilds VRQ Level 1 Hairdressing or 4 GCSE’s grade D or above (must include English and maths)
Successful interview with a Hairdressing/Barbering tutor
A genuine interest in the subject
Good communication skills
A hardworking approach towards the industry
