Introduction to Animal Husbandry (Jan)
Your learning experience
On this course, you will gain a practical introduction to the care and management of a variety of animals. You will explore topics such as feeding, housing, health, behaviour, and handling of both domestic and farm animals. The course combines classroom-based learning with hands-on experience to give you the basic skills and confidence to care for animals responsibly. You will also learn about health and safety, environmental enrichment, and the roles within the animal care industry. This course is ideal for anyone considering a future in animal care or agriculture.
Entry qualifications
There are no formal entry requirements for this course. We welcome learners who have a genuine interest in working with animals and are eager to learn in both practical and classroom environments.
How is this course assessed?
Assessment is ongoing throughout the course and includes a combination of practical tasks, written assignments, and observations. You will build a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your skills and knowledge in key areas of animal husbandry.
