Confident Steps into English

This is a 6 week course which needs to be attended once a week. The course aims to support learners back into the learning environment, especially if they have not studied for some time.

It enables learners to:

· gain confidence being back in a classroom

· develop a good learning attitude

· gain skills in studying English
Tameside College promotes a friendly and supportive environment where you can enjoy learning

· We provide smaller class sizes so you gradually build confidence in learning again

· If required, we can offer support in the classroom
There are no formal entry requirements to access this course. You will be assessed at the start to ensure you are on the right English pathway for your current level.
You will be assessed through a variety of assessment methods including discussions, 1:1s, observations, computer-based tests and written tasks.

On successful completion of this course, you can progress onto:

· Functional Skills English

These courses are tailored for adult learners, no matter your employment status, but if you are:
-Not in paid employment and receive means tested benefit: please bring with you current dated benefit documentation.
-In paid employment but an annual gross salary of less than £25,000: please bring your wage slips dated within 3 months of the start of the course
