Basic Bakery Part 3
Course content & format
This is a part time programme. You will be learning to bake in a community setting using domestic equipment. This course is design to improve and build on your bakery skills. This course is delivered in a community setting with the units of being covered.
Introduction to Manufacturing, Bakery and Catering
Health and Safety in Food Operations

In the session you will create a bakery item that is taken home to bake.
Your learning experience
Over this 6-week course you will produce a range of products from the disciplines of cake decorating, biscuits, pastry and bread. This will be completed after a demo from your tutor with support given during your tasks. After the practical session a small amount of theory work will be delivered with a task to complete. At the end of the lesson your product and skills will be self-evaluated in your workbook. All ingredients are provided with products produced being taken home for you to bake at home. Basic hygiene and health and safety is expected at all times and will be explained in your sessions for each task.
Entry qualifications
Basic bakery part 1 and bakery part 2 must be completed first.
How is this course assessed?
You and your tutor will evaluate your products and skills each week in your work book with feedback also given at the end of the course. There will also be class discussions and tasks to complete for each unit.
