Level 2 Vehicle Accident Repair (Paint)
Course content & format
The course is made up seven units. All seven units will have to be completed to achieve the qualification..
G0102K/S – Knowledge and skills relating to Health, Safety and Good Housekeeping in the Automotive Environment.
G3K/S– Knowledge and skills relating to Job Roles in the Automotive Environment.
PO01K/S – Knowledge and skills relating to tools and equipment Used in Vehicle Refinishing.
PO0408K/S – Knowledge and skills relating to preparing metal and pre-painted surfaces.
PO0205K/S – Knowledge and skills relating to applying fillers and foundation materials.
PO06K/S – Knowledge and skills relating to repairing minor paint defects.
PO03K/S – Knowledge and skills relating to refinishing Plastic Materials and Components.
Your learning experience
In our brand new state of the art Body and Paint training centre you will train in a simulated bodyshop environment with the knowledge units being taught in paint refinish themed learning spaces you will experience:
· High achievement rates
· Demonstrations and visits from leading manufacturers and suppliers such as Sata,PPG paints, Devilbiss, Iwata, 3M, Farecla ,Lechler , Mirka & Colourtone.

· Hands-on training
· Excellent progression to employment and apprenticeships.
· Practicing with the latest industry standard cutting-edge tools and equipment
· Custom painting techniques
· Exterior S.M.A.R.T repair techniques and demonstrations.
Entry qualifications
You will require an IMI Level 1 qualification in Vehicle Accident Repair Paint Principles or equivalent.
How is this course assessed?
Throughout the duration of this course, practical and theory aspects of the course are delivered. You will complete one online assessment at the end of each unit to check you’ve learnt the appropriate knowledge. You’ll also be building up a portfolio of evidence of your practical tasks on the Institute of the Motor industry’s online Eportfolio system.
What can I do next?
Performance is tracked and reviewed by Paint tutors at specific points during the term. Satisfactory performance will be required in all aspects of the course for progression to Level 3. Progression is to a Level 3 Standard Vehicle Refinishing Technician Apprenticeship (If available).
