Level 3 Engineering (Mechanical)
Course content & format
This is a work related course that is designed to enable learners to develop their practical skills and knowledge in a mechanical and manufacturing engineering environment through a range of challenging units.
The course covers the following units:
● Health & Safety
● Engineering Principles
● Principles of Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering
● Computer Aided Draughting
● CNC Machining of Materials
● Detailed Fitting of Materials
Your learning experience
● Work with technologies from world leading companies i.e. Festo, Mitsubishi and Siemens
● Develop industry standard skills in Computer Aided Design, Computer Aided Machining and Fitting & Assembly
● Gain qualifications that engineering employers know and trust
● Progress to employment with prestigious employers e.g. Siemens, Hyde Group, Hawke International, NOV and the Armed Forces
● Purpose built Advanced Technologies Centre
Entry qualifications
Learners must have:
● Five GCSE’s grade 9 to 4 that include English and Maths or
● Successfully completed a Level 2 Engineering qualification
What can I do next?
● Apprenticeship or gain a job within the industry.
● HNC and HND (level 4 & 5) in Engineering (Note: A Bridging unit of Maths and Science at Level 3 or C & G unit 331 is required in addition to the completion of this course)
