Level 3 Carpentry

This course builds on your Level 2 skills and prepares you for a career as a Site Carpenter. It is based on the City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Site Carpentry (7255).

You will develop advanced practical skills and knowledge required to carry out complex site carpentry work safely and to industry standards.

Units covered include:

●  Health and safety in construction

●  Advanced first fix carpentry (floors, walls, roofs)

●  Advanced second fix carpentry (doors, windows, stair components)

●  Complex roofing structures and repairs

●  Setting out and interpreting technical drawings

●  Maintenance and refurbishment of site carpentry work

Training takes place in industry-standard workshops and classrooms, combining practical work with theory sessions.
This course is ideal if you have completed Level 2 Site Carpentry and want to progress your skills further.

●  Carry out advanced site carpentry tasks to a high standard

●  Improve speed, accuracy and quality of workmanship

●  Interpret drawings and specifications used on site

●  Work on realistic construction-based projects

●  Learn from experienced tutors with industry background

●  Engage with employers through site visits and guest speakers where available
●  Level 2 Site Carpentry qualification

●  GCSE English and maths at grade 4 or above (preferred)

You will be interviewed for this course and should demonstrate commitment to working in the construction industry.
●  Externally set and marked multiple-choice exams

●  Practical assignments assessed internally and externally verified

●  Portfolio of evidence

●  All assessments are graded Pass/Fail

You must pass all components to achieve the full qualification.
After completing this course, you could progress to:

●  Carpentry Apprenticeship

●  Employment as a Site Carpenter

●  Progression into supervisory roles with experience
