This Pre-Entry ESOL course is here to help you begin your English Journey by introducing basic English and feel more confident using it in everyday life, education, and work. This course will also prepare you for the City and Guilds Entry 1 course.
During the course, you'll work on three main areas: Speaking and Listening – This part of the course helps you join in basic conversations, ask and answer questions, and understand everyday spoken English. You’ll do activities like role-plays, group chats, and listening to short recordings.
Speaking and Listening – This part of the course helps you join in basic conversations, ask and answer questions, and understand everyday spoken English. You’ll do activities like role-plays, group chats, and listening to short recordings.
Reading – You’ll practise reading simple texts like signs, forms, short letters, and notices. You’ll learn to read story books, pick out important details, and build your vocabulary.
Writing – You’ll learn how to write short texts such as notes, about your routine, spellings, messages, and simple forms. We’ll help you with sentence structure, spelling, and using capital letters and full stops and grammar.
You'll get lots of support and have the chance to practise your skills in a friendly and relaxed environment. The aim is to help you use English more easily in real-life situations and, again, prepare you for Entry 1 ESOL.
