Level 2 Award in Health and Care

This qualification has been developed to provide learners with the knowledge, understanding and skills that will enable them to progress to qualifications at a higher level, to an apprenticeship or to employment in a health and social care related area. Learners will develop sector specific knowledge, understanding and skills together with underpinning transferable skills that support progression to a range of level 3 qualifications within the sector or related areas.

- Equality & Inclusion in Health & Social care

- Communication in Health & social care

You could be looking to work with older people, young people, people with learning disabilities or within the NHS, and this qualification could be the first step on that exciting journey. Health and Social Care courses provide broad based learning around the physical, intellectual, emotional and social needs of individuals of all ages preparing you for a variety of career pathways including nursing, midwifery, social work and youth work. This qualification will give you the knowledge and skills to move forward towards your goal.

You will gain sector specific knowledge and experience from guest speakers.

GCSE English (or have a grade 3 and be working towards) or functional skills L2 English.

Level 1 Award in Health & Care (or equivalent)

You will be interviewed by the subject teachers.
· Internally assessed units. You will be assessed through a variety of assessment methods including discussions, case studies, presentations, extended written work. All assignment work will be submitted through Microsoft teams and typed.

· This is a graded course where you can achieve a Pass, Merit, Distinction.
· The qualifications support learners to progress to qualifications in health and social care and related areas at a higher level

· Apprenticeships

· Employment in the sector.
